Morocco's new import control system scores (almost) perfect

As part of the monitoring of the deployment of the new system of control of industrial products at import, which came into force on June 20, 2020, the Ministry of Industry, Trade, Green and Digital Economy held, Monday, July 12, 2021, a meeting with representatives of the Administration of Customs and Indirect Taxes, the Association of Freight Forwarders Authorized in Morocco Customs (ATADM) and approved bodies of import control of industrial products, in the presence of about fifty freight forwarders.

During this meeting, participants were pleased with the progress made after a year and a half of deployment of the new system of control of industrial products at import.

The President of ATADM, Noureddine Lahmamssi, stressed that more than 92% of import control operations are processed with satisfaction by the new system.

Reiterating their commitment to work together, the three parties have formed an ad-hoc committee to implement targeted actions for specific imports concerning, among others, industrial inputs, products for investment projects or hotels.
