ERA anuncia una reducción en las tarifas de electricidad

The Electricity Regulatory Authority on 7th July 2017 announced the new Electricity End-User (Retail) Tariffs for Quarter Three (July to September) of 2017, indicating a reduction in the Tariffs across all the consumer categories.

 According to the Tariff Schedule, Domestic consumers will pay UGX 686.0 per unit from UGX 687.1, Commercial Consumers - UGX 619.6 from UGX 620.9, Medium Industrial Consumers - UGX 568.8 from UGX 569.7, Large Industrial Consumers - UGX 369.0 from UGX 370.2, Extra Large Industrial Consumers - UGX 365.8 from UGX 366.9 and Street Lighting -UGX 670.0 from UGX 671.2 per unit.

 The reduction in the Tariffs is attributed to favourable changes/movements in the Exchange Rate, International fuel prices, and the Energy Generation mix.The new Tariffs are applicable to all electricity consumer bills raised by Umeme Limited based on meter readings and Yaka purchases to be taken in the period July to September 2017
