The Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, José Manuel Albares, reiterated, Tuesday in Marrakech, the determination of Spain to ensure the implementation of all the elements contained in the joint statement, adopted during the visit of the head of the Spanish government in Morocco.
In a statement to the press after his talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates of Morocco, Nasser Bourita, the head of Spanish diplomacy stressed that the two countries are advancing steadily in the implementation of this declaration, congratulating in this context the level of investment between the two countries.
Thanks to these investments, Morocco has become the main market of Spain outside the European Union, he noted, noting that Spain remains the first customer and the first supplier of Morocco.
On the subject of foreign investment, about 800 Spanish companies are located in Morocco, said Albares.
Regarding migration cooperation, Albares applauded the dynamics that have experienced relations in this area, recalling that this revival has resulted in the recording of a significant decline in arrivals of illegal migrants in the Canary Islands and the Iberian Peninsula thanks to the cooperation of security forces of both countries.
"The relaunch of coordination on the Marhaba operation is a good example of the revitalization of relations based on transparency and mutual respect," concluded the Spanish minister.
