FOMENTO together with RAESA has designed, installed and trained an irrigation system for Kiambu County:

Detailed Design delineating land for irrigation development and water resources.
Installation of sprinkler irrigation system and drainage infrastructure.
Training of relevant farmers association for sustainability.

The most appropriate modern pressurized irrigation system such as Sprinkler irrigation system and Drip irrigation were selected for the agricultural project. The irrigation methods proposed for the project present high performance, low irrigation costs and flexibility such as aluminum pipes sprinkler systems.

The project targets to benefit approximately 3,000 farmers.

Increased on-farm employment for the increased productivity.
Increased off-farm employment following increased demands for services by farmers.
Increased food security as a result of increase in sustainable income.
Increased nutrition health as a result of increased in food varieties.
Increase opportunities in value addition/ cottage industry due availability of raw materials.
